Hunger Games chapter questions

Lists of similar questions are provided for every chapter. They could be handy to have in a file for reference but for each student to individually be answering them seems to me to be a waste of valuable creative time. To do the creative activities suggested, the answers to most of the questions need to be known and the students will seek them out when there is purpose. Some questions could be selected on a theme basis and posted with their answers on a Wall in Wallwisher or something similar.

Opinionative Column can be adapted to new media

Many of the requirements for this original activity can be adapted to the new media. Students could be in small groups according to their opinion and do further discussions via a discussion forum. Research could include videos as well as print resources. If the full capabilities of OneNote were being used, then the websites of resources used would be automatically kept. This would probably allow more enjoyment of the task. The photo required could be a photo they have taken themselves and uploaded or it could be a photoshopped Muttation. This is an example of working within existing frameworks with the new media.

Hunger Games exam information

This assessment could remain with a slight variation of it being done on the students' laptops doing away with the "pens and white out" Adjustments would need to be done to the criteria sheet. These changes are minor and I think most teachers would be willing to acquiesce to them. One of Lecture 11's "small changes"

Further Reading brochure

There is a dedicated section of wall which holds an array of brochures based on themes and genres or aligned to assignments. Their purpose to encourage recreational reading seems to be successful. This one would appeal to those who enjoyed "The Hunger Games" Some entries may be for senior school only and these books would be identified with a gold dot on the spine.
